Uses

A few of the things this data can be used for:

• Teaching GIS, with a small dataset that students can load and map very easily, and experiment with visualisation methods
• Demonstrating point pattern analysis, kernel density estimation and hotspot mapping
• Building Voroni polygons around the pumps to work out which one each death was nearest to
• Cartography and map design exercises
• Illustrating the history of epidemiology and public health in teaching material
• Example data for software tutorials, blog posts, conference talks and documentation
• Reproducing one of the most famous pieces of spatial analysis ever done
